Holidays!

Hey everyone!

Ok so Happy late ThanksGiving to all! I hope your feasts and families and friends and loved ones are all well a safe!  For being my first ThanksGiving away from home it was different, but not bad.  I started off with a super hard leg workout(that has left me sore even today). From my soreness I fell coming down the stairs that led out of our trailer because my legs would not move as fast a gravity wanted me to! Then the two wards here in Columbus had a Turkey bowl where all of us elders tore it up for about 2 hours.  Then our feast parade began.  We first ate with the Elderly missionary couple the Youngers at 11 am. Here all of the missionaries in Columbus were invited.  Then already feeling slightly defeated by the day we headed on to the Weises for a second feast at 2 pm.  Here it was only the Flat Rock missionaries and we had some live music entertainment.  At 5 pm we had to trudge along to the Horns for yet another feast.  Here I mostly just ate dessert and was feeling the Turkey coma set in!:)  Finally we had our last meal at 7 pm with the Fosters.  Here we all broke out the guitars and ukuleles and ate more food! Here it was not so bad though because they had like egg rolls and shrimp and like Asian food so it was a change and my tummy found room!!:)

Also For Black Friday.  We had an early Christmas for one of the sisters who is going home!:)  we did a district secret santa gift exchange and we went over to a members to help them set up their Christmas tree and it was a blast!

Saturday My Grammy and Grandpa(moms parents)  were travelling through GA from SC to AZ.  They stopped in to visit me and took me out to lunch. We had a wonderful visit. It was super special since I will not get to see them at Christmas like I usually do so it was quite the treat!

Well we had our AC and heater go out and the Fridge this past week but the land lord is on top of things and took care of both of them within 24hours  so not a problem!

We got to see this super sweet old lady Mrs. Murrel.  She loves us to come over and we are her excitement and joy.  This last time we went over we danced with her and sang with her and I swear with left her 10 years younger!

G4: Have you and Trav not watched Lady and the Tramp? Siamese are evil cats!!!!!  Awe that stinks that Moana was a disappointment.  what did you get shopping? Love you sister make sure to spread you love and caring self!

Audrey: I miss the snow here they do get it but like one every 7 years or so. I did however get a flurry last winter.  I'm glad that you were able to have a good thanksgiving with the family. I hope the kittens are cute enough to overpower the evil of Siamese cats (Lady and the Tramp!)  yeah I miss the cold in the summer here but the cold here is not as low as in temperature but the humidity just like in the heat amplifies the chill to the bone! thanks for the prayers.

Tali: Love you too sis!  mmmm you like olive garden!

Trav:  dude That is sweet you got a bunch of freee food!  here for all 4 of our dinners there were 2 or more turkeys and it was SOO much food I was about to pop!  I am glad you got to see the fam and they helped yall out with the pantry!   as I have said before free or not siamese are evil bro!  and thanks for getting my stuff back! I can't wait to get home either man I love you!!

Mom: awe that is so cute sorry I was not great company.   It looks like you and Jenny had a blast together!!:)   yes I got the pictures and her package today!  Yeah I am very grateful to have been able to meet Phillips!  I am glad you made it safely home!  ha glad you got the girls trapped! Love you!

Love you all!

Problem Solved

Hey Everyone!

Ok, so a few weeks ago my bike broke. slowwly but surely it has been falling apart since I got it. I am the kind of person to that was just like eh I will ride it till it will not get me from point A-B.  That is exactly what I did.  Well Luckily for me another set of elders near to us had an abandoned parts bike at their apartment.  We picked it up and put a new tube in it jimmy rigged a new brake system on it and I am pretty sure I now have a nicer bike for free than the one I paid to have when I got out here. I am pretty happy with the way things turned out!

As a personal and companionship goal we have been trying to change our teaching style to allow the scriptures to bring the spirit and teach and we second the words of Holy Prophets by bearing testimony.  Than an answer to our diligence in efforts came during Zone conference on Friday.  One of the Elderly couple missionaries presented a training on how to use the Book of Mormon more in our finding efforts and I loved it and plan on adopting it.  It is a way to help people know where to start their reading by marking sections for them to follow and for them to get a good glimmer at what the Book of Mormon teaches.  While making it practical for even a busy schedule.

Now onto food!  First is the good stuff.  A member took us out to there favorite pizzeria.  It did turn out to be pretty good but my favorite pizza they had us try was a Cheese Burger with Fries pizza.  It totally tickled my taste buds the right way.  Second the not so good stuff.  I have been out an ok while now but somehow I have never had the opportunity to try Colored(call-urd) Greens which is a Southern delicacy.  Well I tried them this past week and anyone from the north or west or around the world you are not missing out from my view.  They are just a strange bitter and salty flavor.  Also we had a meal last night from a very kind member.  That just was not the most appetizing. That tends to happen when you think you find one of her chin hairs in you cornbread and than spend all night on the toilet!:p

This week we also had Interviews that went well.  President has received council from higher up to start doing zone Conferences and Interviews every transfer.  Where as it used to be off set on every other transfer.  During Interviews though I was talking to sister Grayson and she was asking where I had been and what I liked and stuff.  When I told her my areas she informed me that I have been blessed enough to have already been n the 2 worst apartments in the mission.  They are looking to move the missionaries out of both of them but they have not found anything yet.  one of them is the trailer we stay in right now. The other was the Valdosta Apartment.  I can know now that it is only up from here!

Oh and  for the epic fail of the week.  Since one of the sister missionaries in the ward is going home a lady voluntold us we were singing a special musical number.  Well we sang it yesterday and it was not the best performance I have ever been in lets just leave it at that.

FAMILY: The girls have plans now what the what that does not sound right! Tell Gracie congrats! that is awesome she won a coloring contest.  I am glad everyone is safe! I love you Mom, Dad, Travis, Taylor, Gracie, Talia.

Yeah no it was like a metal and mesh porch chair:p  (in previous blog pic) yeah there are great old and creepy things to take pics of here.  Yeah the weises are super nice and feed us almost every sunday! and yeah I don't even know what we were doing we got a new lesson thing to try from president and we were practicing with them and they are members so they made it a struggle but I let Smith struggle basically!:p  people keep saying I look way skinny but I promise I'm not or I do not think I am? yes there is good and bad food! here have to be careful of who cooked it! one nice thing is a family buys us apples every thursday!:)  also for christmas skype it is a sunday and we are having sacrament meeting from 10 -11 our time and than after that so...around 12ish probs we will be at the youngers ready to skype for a heads up! (subject to slight change) no, no hair form the weises!  yes I got your package and I have pics of the decorations!:)

Thrus schedule:
9:30-football
11-youngers
2-weises
4:30-horns

There's a Snake in My Boot (pics)

Hey Everyone!

Allllllllllllllllllrighty then! So this past week I get home after P-day and am doing our nightly planning and I find a note from one of the sisters.  She had apparently seen my dress clothes on the chair, as I was changed and balling it up on the B-ball court.  So she had taken my planner and wrote some quirky little thing and I laughed and thought it was great!   Then later that Night I found something else though!  I took off my shoe and I pull out my insoles to let the foam repuff every night.  Well I did this and I started to shake out anything, such as sand, that might be in my shoe.  As I did this I found an unexpected visitor!  -ok so for you faint of heart it wasn't really a snake.... I just wanted to quote Woody-  It was a baby lizard, that I have no clue how it got in there or how long it was there?  As you can imagine, whether from my hard working man foot stench, or just squishing him, he was dead and super flattened! When it fell out I was a little freaked out because I did not expect that!!!!

Well I got to do some fun service this past week and get a great reward!  So a recent convert family, who is awesome and are strong members, have us over for dinner and Book of Mormon study every other Thursday night.  Well we did this last week and during this time they told us they were painting their front deck the next day.  We, of course, jumped on that and asked to help.  So they had us back over that next morning and then they fed us lunch. Then they invited us to dinner as well!  Not just to dinner at their house though, or just anywhere, but to the 4 WINDS!  This is the one and only local Cusseta Cafe.  Famous for their 1lbs patty Ranger Burger!  Everyone in town has talked about them, but I have never been. Well WE got there and there was no doubt in my mind what I was getting until I saw the menu!  There was a secret Burger called the Marine Burger you have to ask your waitress about, and so I did and it was a 2lbs patty burger!!!!! Soooooo of course, I got that one and smoked it in a battle of wills to the death! I ate that Burger so fast It was disappeared along with half of my Fries before the waitress came back to refill our cups(mind you we were some of few costumers in the Cafe at the time so she was able to make trips back quite swiftly).  It was so totally stupendous!

Also this week we had like a new missionary orientation meeting in Macon on Saturday.  It was like all day long.  Well I felt as though I needed a treat after sitting still for so long, so well behaved just as my momma taught me.  Well there is this well known peach farm called Lane's Southern Orchards.  It takes a little longer to get home going that way but it is on the way home so there was a few of us heading back that way decided to stop and check out what we had all heard so much about with Lanes Peach ice cream and shakes and cobblers!!!  I being the large food connoisseur I am happily tingled my taste buds and partook of all three!

Wow this was a food week! because Also last night Bill Reese's sisters Family and friends had us over for a Pre-Thanksgiving dinner!  Since their group who usually celebrates it together is not going to be able to on Thanksgiving. It was way good!  There was even a healthy pumpkin pie made with protein powder and other cool stuff! I do not like Pumpkin pie personally but I did have to try this one!

Mom: The South would very much agree with Aunt T on Butter makes all things better and the more there is the better it is!  So there was the one healthy pumpkin pie at the feast last night and there was another pumpkin pie that looked funky to me and then I found out it was spotted because there was so much butter in it it was pooling out even after being cooked!  Two things that make this part of the world go around is butter and gravy. I already emailed Grammy and Grandpa. Not back and forth but answered their questions.  Yes the food last night was good! The bike thing should be able to get worked out pretty quick and fine so Don't worry about that.  For Christmas yeah there is not really anything I need at this point?  Wants wise: you should send more hard form pictures please. And I do not know who or what a person would need, I do not have anyone or thing in mind right now but I will keep an eye out! Oh I could use a new electric razor!  Look at my mom the super star teacher!!!! Don't let the children or the mice take over! Ok I will be looking! Love you Mom!

Tali: Exterminator? Couldn't tay have just set up traps on his own?  haha I think she just wanted an excuse to have you clean and sort under the stairs!:p  haha it sounds like you had some fun with it though! One missionary has a sword and we cut some pumpkins with it on Halloween!:)  Dang a movie pallooza!  love you sis!

G4: There are no Zuppas here, but other missionaries know what I am talking about when I mention it and we all miss them!  Well you are emailing me so I am glad you did not really die!:p  haha I can't wait till you are in High school next year and than I will be back before you are even done being a Freshman!:)   Love you Girl!

Tay: Tell me how honor choir goes and good luck! Glad to hear you are still a great guy and volunteering.  haha congrats on having the cleanest room in the house! Trust me being clean and knowing how to clean will behoove you on your mission man!   Some missionaries don't care about it or don't know how and it is atrocious! Love you Bro!

Love you All!
